Practical guides for installing, configuring, and running Bunk Shipments.

Start with Getting Started if this is a new install. Use the sections below for the cart widget, Omniva, DPD, parcel lockers, and day-to-day shipping.

Cart widget

The Bunk Delivery Widget is a Theme App Block for Online Store 2.0 cart pages. Buyers choose a delivery method—parcel locker, courier, or store pickup—and, when needed, a specific locker or store location. That choice is stored on the cart and order so your team sees the same selection in Admin.

Setup (canonical): Open Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes → Customize → Cart template. Add the Bunk Delivery Widget Theme App Block, save, then open the storefront cart once so the app can confirm the widget is active. Theme App Block is the primary merchant setup path.

Optional: Activate Delivery Customization in Shopify shipping settings so checkout rates stay aligned with the method the buyer selected on the cart. Shopify still owns checkout; the widget does not replace Shopify Shipping rates.

Configure which carriers and methods appear under Settings → Storefront delivery. Carrier login credentials stay under Settings → Carriers. Parcel locker (pickup point) availability depends on each carrier’s capabilities—supported carriers today are Omniva and DPD.

Omniva setup

Use Omniva when your commercial Omniva account is ready for production shipments.

  1. Open Settings → Carriers → Omniva.
  2. Enter the credentials from your Omniva account and save the connection.
  3. Run Test connection. Fix any authentication error before creating live shipments.
  4. If you offer parcel lockers, open Parcel lockers and run Sync so the locker list is available to the cart widget and Orders.
  5. Enable Omniva and the methods you sell under Settings → Storefront delivery.

Connecting Omniva does not automatically show it to buyers. Methods appear only after you enable them under Storefront delivery and the cart widget is on the cart page.

DPD setup

Use DPD when your commercial DPD account is ready for production shipments.

  1. Open Settings → Carriers → DPD.
  2. Enter the credentials from your DPD account and save the connection.
  3. Run Test connection. Fix any authentication error before creating live shipments.
  4. If you offer parcel lockers, open Parcel lockers and run Sync so the locker list is available to the cart widget and Orders.
  5. Enable DPD and the methods you sell under Settings → Storefront delivery.

Connecting DPD does not automatically show it to buyers. Methods appear only after you enable them under Storefront delivery and the cart widget is on the cart page.

Parcel lockers

Parcel lockers let buyers search and select a locker on the cart. The selected locker stays on the order so your team can create the shipment to the correct location.

  • Connect the carrier and run Test connection.
  • Sync the parcel locker list for that carrier.
  • Enable parcel locker delivery under Storefront delivery.
  • Confirm the cart widget is on the cart template.

If the locker list is empty after Sync, confirm the carrier account includes locker services for the countries you sell to, then sync again.

Shipment workflow

Day-to-day work happens in the Orders workspace inside Shopify Admin. Shipment lifecycle statuses are Registered → In Transit → Delivered. Bunk Shipments uses carrier tracking information for In Transit and Delivered—not Shopify Admin “Mark as delivered.”

  1. Open a paid order and review delivery details (method, carrier, parcel locker or address).
  2. Choose Create shipment for parcel locker or courier orders. The shipment becomes Registered.
  3. Print Label—download or print the shipping label and attach it to the parcel.
  4. Create Fulfillment—creates the Shopify fulfillment for the order. This is a Shopify action, not the end of the shipment lifecycle. The order stays on the Orders shipment dashboard while tracking continues.
  5. Use Sync (or Bulk Sync) to refresh carrier tracking. When the carrier reports movement, status becomes In Transit; when the carrier reports delivered, Delivered.

If a Shopify fulfillment is cancelled, Bunk Shipments reconciles the fulfillment state and allows the shipment to be fulfilled again when Shopify makes the order fulfillable.

Store pickup: When the buyer chose store pickup, prepare the order for collection at your Shopify location. A carrier shipment and shipping label are not required for those orders.

Operating mode: Setup and Simulation keep live carrier shipping off or sandboxed while you configure the store. Use Live only when you intend to create real carrier shipments.

Orders filters

Use filters on the Orders page to focus the work queue:

  • All — All visible shipment/order work
  • Needs Shipment — Order still needs a shipment
  • Store Pickup — Orders using pickup
  • Today — Shipments created today
  • Registered — Shipment registered with the carrier
  • Needs Fulfillment — Shipment needs Shopify fulfillment
  • In Transit — Carrier reports shipment in transit
  • Delivered — Carrier reports shipment delivered
  • Needs Attention — Shipment/order needs operator attention

How it fits together

Bunk Shipments sits between your Shopify store and your carriers:

  • The cart widget captures how the buyer wants delivery (method, carrier, parcel locker or store).
  • The embedded Admin app turns that into shipment work: create shipment, print label, create fulfillment, sync tracking.
  • Optional Delivery Customization keeps checkout rate choices consistent with the cart selection.

Configure sender information and carriers, publish the cart widget, then create shipments from orders.

Troubleshooting

Buyers do not see the cart widget

Confirm the Bunk Delivery Widget Theme App Block is on the Online Store 2.0 Cart template, and the theme is saved and published. Open the storefront cart once after saving.

Parcel lockers are missing

Confirm the carrier connection passed Test connection, the parcel locker list was synced, parcel locker delivery is enabled under Storefront delivery, and the cart widget is on the cart page.

Test connection fails

Re-enter credentials from the carrier account, save, and test again. Confirm the account is active for the countries you ship to. Stay in Setup or Simulation until the test succeeds.

Orders show incomplete delivery details

Delivery method, carrier, or parcel locker may be missing if the buyer did not finish the cart selection, or if the cart widget was not on the theme when the order was placed. Open the order in Bunk Shipments and complete the delivery information before creating a shipment.

Shopify platform notes

The cart widget loads delivery options for your shop through Shopify’s App Proxy—buyers do not need a separate API key. Shopify webhooks keep the app in sync for uninstall and mandatory privacy (GDPR) requests. The Theme App Block and Delivery Customization extension use Shopify’s standard extension model.
