Getting Started
A practical path from install through Create shipment, Create Fulfillment, and carrier tracking Sync. Follow the steps in order the first time you set up a store.
Before you begin
You need permission to install apps and edit your Online Store 2.0 theme. Have Omniva or DPD account credentials ready if you plan to create live carrier shipments. Shopify still owns checkout and shipping rates—Bunk Shipments configures delivery choices, creates carrier shipments, and prints labels.
Setup steps
Step 1Install the app
What you do: Install Bunk Shipments from the Shopify App Store (or your Partner install link) and approve the requested permissions. Open the app from Shopify Admin → Apps → Bunk Shipments.
Why it matters: The app runs inside Shopify Admin. Until it is installed and authorized, it cannot read orders or create carrier shipments for your shop.
What happens next: You land on Home. Follow the first-time setup checklist, or continue with the steps below.
Step 2Add sender information
What you do: Open Settings → Business. Enter the company name (or contact person), phone number, email if you have one, and the street address, city, and postal code used as the parcel pickup / return address. Save.
Why it matters: Omniva and DPD print this information on shipping labels and use it for pickup. Incomplete sender details block shipment creation.
What happens next: Connect a carrier so the app can authenticate against Omniva or DPD.
Step 3Connect carriers
What you do: Open Settings → Carriers. Choose Omniva or DPD, enter the credentials from your carrier account, save the connection, then run Test connection. If you offer parcel lockers, open that carrier’s Parcel lockers section and run Sync so the locker list is available.
Why it matters: Labels are created through the carrier account you connect. A failed test means credentials or account access need fixing before live shipping.
What happens next: Configure which delivery options buyers see, and add the cart widget to your theme.
Step 4Add the cart Theme App Block
What you do: Open Settings → Storefront delivery. Enable the carriers and methods you sell—parcel locker, courier, and/or store pickup. Then open Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes → Customize → Cart template, add the Bunk Delivery Widget Theme App Block, save, and open the storefront cart once so the app can detect the widget.
Why it matters: The Theme App Block is the canonical setup. Connecting a carrier is not enough—buyers only see methods you enable, and without the block, locker or store pickup choices will not stay on the order for your team.
What happens next: Place a test order (or use an existing paid order) and create your first shipment in the Orders workspace. Use Live operating mode for real carrier actions.
Step 5Create shipment (Registered)
What you do: Open Orders in Bunk Shipments. Select a paid order that needs shipping. Confirm the delivery method, carrier, and parcel locker (if applicable). Choose Create shipment. Confirm the order appears under the Registered filter.
Why it matters: This registers the parcel with Omniva or DPD. Registered is a real shipment status after Create shipment. Store pickup orders do not need a carrier shipment—prepare them for collection instead.
What happens next: Print the label, create Shopify fulfillment, then sync carrier tracking.
Step 6Print label, fulfill, and sync tracking
What you do: From the same order, Print Label, then Create Fulfillment. The shipment stays visible on the Orders shipment dashboard after fulfillment. Use Sync (or Bulk Sync) to refresh carrier tracking. When the carrier reports movement, status becomes In Transit; when the carrier reports delivered, Delivered.
Why it matters: Create Fulfillment is a Shopify action—it is not the end of the Bunk shipment lifecycle. Tracking statuses come from the carrier after Sync, not from Shopify Admin “Mark as delivered.”
What happens next: For filters and troubleshooting, open Documentation or the FAQ. Switch Operating mode to Live only after Test connection succeeds and you are ready for real carrier shipments.
Operating mode
While you are still configuring the store, keep Operating mode on Setup or Simulation under Settings → Advanced. Switch to Live only after Test connection succeeds and you are ready for real carrier shipments.
